America's Cup- Artemis Racing sailing again in San Francisco

Artemis Racing in the AC45 - June 2013 Artemis Racing http://www.artemisracing.com

Beleaguered America's Cup Challenger, Artemis Racing is back on the water on San Francisco Bay, after their fatal training incident over three weeks ago.

The team is sailing a foil equipped AC45, restarting their sailing program, while their second AC72 is prepared for sailing.

No significant developments are expected from the meeting of all the teams that are ongoing in San Francisco, this week.

While Artemis Racing may not make the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup, beginning July 4, they are expected to at least compete in the Semi-Final Round in August. The no-show penalties of $100,000 per race are expected to be removed before the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup.

A reduced racing schedule is expected to be confirmed as previously signalled in the Recommendations from the Review Committee, set up after the death of Artemis crew member Andrew Simpson, in the training incident. The Review looked at all aspects of the 34th America's Cup, including lessons learned from the Artemis and earlier Oracle Team USA capsizes, of non foiling AC72's.

There is no indication as to when the San Francisco Police Department or Medical Examiner's reports will be released publicly, with the process taking longer than originally expected.
